Costa Victoria Cruise 2017
Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at January 16, 2018

Annual family travel sets off again! This time its only my perents and me!

Travel Date: 20 December 2017 to 23 December 2017
Departing Venue: Harbourfront Cruise Centre

Costa Victoria its a italian cruise ship (sail all the way from italy to singapore), I heard its quite a old vessel. Most crews and the captians are from italy and other countries over the world. Its so hard to understand what are they saying because of their huge italian accent. Overall its still a pretty pleasent holiday and SUPER tired!
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
1st Day was quite a waste because the check- in/ borading time is 6pm and the ship start sailing only at 10pm. they had a wellcome dance party and its my first time dancing and partying with strangers! even my parents are enjoying themselves.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
2nd Day we woke up at 7am for breakfast and embark to Malacca at 8am. We only had about 5 hours of tour time in malacca as the ship will start sailing at 3pm therefore we need to be back at 2:30pm.

Malacca does not have a cruise centre for the ship to port, The Ship anchored outside harbour and we had to take their recuse boat to the shore. I get to view the whole ship! Its so big! didn't managed to take pictures as there was a lot of people squeezing.

Once on shore, there is already a lot of taxi uncles and tour guides waiting for us. We didn't join any tour and just took a taxi to the red house (central of malacca).

With many other tourist, we are all crowded at the same area. There is Trishaw trying so hard to get business. We end up taking because the uncle is such too friendly and nice. 1 ride is 25RMB they will bring you to 2 historical places near the central.

1. A'Famosa
Built in 1511, the settlement used to sprawl across a whole hillside but now only a lone gate (Porta de Santiago) remains. One of the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia; it is set beside the Istana ke Sultanan on Jalan Kota.

2. An Old Train infront of the Architecture Museum.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
After the ride back, we went to view the famous Christ Church.

And the Flora de la Mar Maritime Museum (A restored Portuguese ship)

We didn't went in to see the interior becasue now you have to pay admission fee of 10RMB(I think).
My dad said last time it was free for guest to visit, I think now they are smart because 10RMB for tourist is not expensive and they are willing to spent.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Last but no least, the street of malacca filled with local snacks and food!
 We didn't managed to finished walking the whole street because we're running out of time.
A photo of mom and me in the recuse boat! Look how tired she is. hahaha
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
while we are on the ship, swimming and shop at the duty free stores. I think I over spent again. Tour around.. relaxing myself and a fews day without my phone. As you have to buy internet and everything you spent on ship is USD dollars.
It was my mom's birthday on 22nd December and she recieved a 50$ off spa voucher so end up both of us did a massage treatment together. Overall the experience was not top class/ money worthy or should i say not professional.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
3rd Day the ship port at Penang, We rented a taxi for 150RMB for about 3-4hours. Penang tour time is lesser then malacca as the ship will leave to singapore at 2pm.
Didn't had breakfast on the ship, so we went to eat bak Kut Teh at Penang. I don't were is the place but its a huge restaurant over looking the sea.
After our brunch, the uncle drove us to two penang famous factory outlets selling local biscuits/products.
Then to this new shopping mall, nothing to shop in this shopping mall.. mostly branded boutiques or store you can find in Singapore.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
End.

Next family trip genting dream cruise please!
